Top 5 Best Beaches In Goa

Goa is one of the best places to enjoy a long and relaxing beach stay.

The state is synonymous with beaches and has been so since the time that the Indian government started to promote the country as a branded tourist destination, with a catchy and easy to remember statement, “Incredible India!”

Today, the state of Goa attracts an enormous number of visitors from India as well as those from abroad, making it one of the most prime seaside destinations in the entire country as well as the world.

The options that one has in Goa when it comes to beaches are enormous.
Almost the entire western side of Goa faces the Arabian Sea, allowing it to have an enormous number of beaches which are spread all over the shoreline from the north to the south of the state.

While there are certainly plenty of amazing locations in and around Goa where one can explore the vast beaches, given below are some of the best beaches that one should look forward to visiting.

1.) Calangute Beach

Calangute Beach

Calangute is one of the most famous of all beach destinations in the state of Goa.
There is an abundance of amazing as well as scenic hotspots around this beach area.
However, it should be noted that this beach derives its name and fame thanks to its wonderful nightlife which happens to be unique from a lot of other beaches in Goa.
The beach is located about 16 km north of the capital city of Panaji, with connectivity by road.

2.) Candolim Beach

Candolim Beach

The average beach destination that one would expect in Goa, especially in the main areas, is typically full of people from one end of the beach till the other.
An exception to the rule would be Candolim. Despite being in a rather commercialized region of Goa, much of Candolim beach is rather free from the mad crowds that have become a characteristic feature elsewhere.

In addition to this, the beach has the added advantage of the famous Aguada fort being a short walk away from the seaside.
Also, this beach happens to be one of the longest beaches of Goa.

It should be noted that the beach is not always empty and pristine. An annual event called Sunburn takes place every year where the beaches get filled with mad crowds from both India as well as abroad.

The place can be reached by road and has excellent connectivity to the rest of the state as well as country.

3.) Arambol Beach

Arambol Beach Goa

Arambol is one of the most famous of all beaches in southern Goa.
The reason for this is that it happens to be one of the most well known of all beaches but at the same time, one of the most isolated. Thanks to this, the place is very much pristine and free from the crowds that are often a characteristic of other beaches in the state.

It should however be noted that the beach is not exactly a beach in many spots but rather rocky in a lot of the places.
One of the most important features of the beach is that it is the nesting ground for Olive Ridley Turtles, which come here year after year to lay their eggs.

The place is not exactly well connected, despite having a good road network. It is therefore recommended for tourists to arrive here using their own means of transportation.

4.) Betalbatim Beach

Betalbatim Beach

Located very close to the famous port city of Margao is the Betalbatim beach.
This is one of the most pristine and unexplored of all the various beaches in the state of Goa, despite being so close to an important population center.
The beach is very well known for its golden sand, pine trees and for the odd tourist, dolphins.
The place is just 10 km away from the northern end of Margao, with a well developed transport network.

5.) Baga Beach

Baga Beach

Baga is a creek that empties itself into the Arabian sea.
Named after this creek, is the entire stretch of shoreline that surrounds it.

The beach itself is located along a coastal town called Bardez. Being one of the most popular of all tourist centers in Goa, One can expect Baga beach to have tourists pretty much all around the year. However, the flow of tourists tends to see an overall increase sometime along the winter months when people arrive in large numbers not just to Baga but to every other beach in Goa, particularly from abroad.

In addition to this, there are a lot of avenues to see amazing natural landscapes, beach activities in Baga like parasailing, etc, which have become quite standard for Baga.
The place is very well connected to the rest of the state of Goa, as well as India by road.

As a whole, anyone who is interested in an amazing beach vacation should look forward to consider Goa as one of the possible choices.
The state has a great deal of potential when it comes to beaches and is sure to leave a lasting memory in the minds of everyone who would travel in and around here.
